Their paths were supposed to cross. A few times to be exact. But they never did. Fate had other plans.
Facebook is a sin. I’ll swear by it! Haha. But it’s also a blessing all in the same for reasons like this story. I had become a follower (amongst many others) of an old high school friend and neighbor of mines newest love story. I remember seeing her status’ months ago that read.. “115 days until Adam is home.” Needless to say, those 115 days flew by (for me at least!) and I was starting to see new status’ that read, “3 days.”
It was then that I found out how their story began…
Brittany worked at a local restaurant where Adam’s brother would visit weekly. One afternoon he suggested to Adam that he should stop in the deli and introduce himself… I think you’d like this girl. Adam stopped by the restaurant… only to find that it was Brittany’s day off. Time went by and Adam was getting ready to deploy. He thought it wouldn’t be right of him to introduce himself a week before his deployment, so he left to defend our country… for 7 months.
It was then that fate stepped in… Adam found Brittany on facebook and they hit it off. They spent the next 7 months skyping, writing letters, and emailing every day.
I had the pleasure of being at the airport today to experience what I can say even gave me the chills. Brittany waited patiently for Adam to come walking out of the terminal in uniform. The day that seemed like it would never be here had finally come… where they could finally be in each others arms… and I feel lucky to have captured it all.
The moment was spent in a blissful state of laughter and joy…and kissing, lots of kissing.
I want to thank Brittany and Adams family for allowing me to be a part of such a special moment. And a big thanks to Adam for being such a sport about all the photos and for doing all that you do to keep this country safe.
I torture my siblings… this weekend I begged my brother Scott to let me take some photos of him so I could try out my new lenses. Luckily his girlfriend was game for it too, so we took a walk down the street to a small park in my neighborhood. If you’re from Northern New Jersey, you may have encountered the rain storm and excessive flooding that occurred last weekend. Awesome. Not so much. Tons of trees down… and being the nut that I am, I thought it would be awesome to take advantage of the new landscape!
Ohhh High School love… to be young again.
They are SO cute… I can’t believe this is my brother sometimes.
So, I think I can now officially say that my business is for real… for serious… and that’s because I got my business cards this week! Yay. I designed them online and absolutely love the way they came out. I’ll admit I’m a l.i.t.t.l.e. indecisive when it comes to branding something… so designing my business cards only took me… ohhhhh, maybe 2 months. No big deal.
I’ve known Amber for over ten years now (that’s scary saying that out loud), and I still remember the day she told me she had met Phil… Snowboarding trip, first weekend they met they hit it off. Phil has brought Amber alive in ways that are so awesome to see looking in from the outside. Yesterday they exchanged vows at one of the most beautiful churches I’ve ever been to in Montclair, NJ. Luckily I was able to leave work early and literally arrived at the moment they were opening the doors for Amber and her father to walk down the isle. I had a bunch to do yesterday evening so I was able to sneak in the back of the church and take some photos of the ceremony at least! Though it was a rainy day, Amber and Phils love brightened the room…
We couldn’t be more happy for the two of you…
So did anyone catch Molly and Jason’s wedding last night on ABC?! Let me just tell you I am o.b.s.e.s.s.e.d. with her Manolo Blahnik Green Peep Toe Feather Pumps! Seriously?! They are gorgeoussss and I would cut off my right arm to wear those on my wedding day… well maybe not.
I am not one of those women with a huge shoe fetish… I have a hard time bringing myself to spend a ton of money on a pair of shoes that I may only wear a few times, but I do have a few old time faves that I will heart forever that were both under $100!
