Another Year Has Gone By :: 2011 Goals

Christmas is over.  New Years Eve is approaching, and well… another year has gone by.  Just like that.  Isn’t that sort of how we feel every year?  All of the sudden, it’s over and if we don’t take a minute to reflect on the year and be thankful… all of the sudden another has gone by.

I was sitting on the train headed into NYC to see the tree in Rockefeller Center last week when it hit me… my mind started racing with things that I wanted to accomplish in the coming year.  Tons of thoughts filled my head, so I whipped out my trusty iPhone and started to note some of the things that came to mind first…

And just so you can all hold me accountable, here they are…

I love your new years resolutions. It’s inspired me to write down my own ambitious goals. What christian book did you read? Would you recommend it? Happy New Year!!

Anytime :: It’s A Love/Hate Kinda Thing

Starbucks… it’s a love hate relationship.  As in, I love you Pumpkin Spice Latte, but I hate your prices Starbucks.  I mean really… $5.00?!  You’re killin’ me smalls… but…  I . Must . Have . You!  With whip, thank you very much!

Happy Monday… hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!

New Jersey Portrait Photographer :: The Ham Fam

The cutest boys on the block… my cousins two little ones were such nugs for this Christmas shoot, so I thought I would share a few of my favorite photos!  Thomas is the sweetest, most well behaved little gentleman and I just cannot get enough of how happy little baby Liam is!

With the Holiday season in full swing, I cannot help but to just eat, drink, and breath Christmas everything.  Hope everyone’s enjoying it just as much as I am!

A Year In The Making :: 2010 Recap

I am the nut who puts their Christmas lights up the week before Thanksgiving, because… I mean, I need at least a full 6 weeks of Christmas everything, obviously.

It’s the time of year when I start to feel all mushy inside, when things start to slow down… and this year was not an exception to say the least.  This year has been a whirlwind of amazing blessings in my life that I couldn’t have even dreamed up.  Not only did I get to see my sister walk down the aisle this year, but I also got to see my best friend walk down the aisle the day after!

Needless to say, this year has been a year filled with love, and planning, and love, and planning, and oh ya… building the amanda joy Photography brand in the meantime.  Looking back, a year ago today… I didn’t even own a decent wedding lens, I didn’t have a blog, I didn’t have a single client who wanted me to shoot a wedding for them, I didn’t have a vision of what I wanted this whole amanda joy Photography thing to look like.

A year later, I have a blog, I have a few lenses that I think are quite fanfreakintabulous, clients that I’ve shot weddings for and clients that I cannot wait to shoot for in 2011, and I think I’m on my way to knowing exactly the type of photos that I want to produce.  Something that just oozes love, and has a bit of flair all at the same time.   All in all, I feel like I’ve been pretty blessed this year.

So to recap, here are a few of my favorite shots from the year…
