I love Anytime shoots… when that day comes for me and I finally get hitched… my husband will live and breath Anytime Shoots. I firmly believe in having photos done with your Hubby once a year, so when Jaclyn reach out to me to do an casual Anytime shoot, I was thrilled! Jaclyn & Tim’s one year anniversary just passed and we thought, what better idea then to capture a few simple photos of them to celebrate! Some may say, that’s silly… but I think it’s so important to capture some nice photos with you and your husband because before you know it…. little ones are running around and all of the sudden, your time is.. well, not your time anymore! It’s so nice to have some new photos to frame after the wedding!
We shot for about an hour, and Jaclyn and Tim make it SO easy for me. Can you say photogenic? My goodness! Here’s a few photos for you to enjoy…
Winter 2011, you’ve schooled me. Totally and completely… and I’m over you. All of you.
I mean, really? A snow storm every week. Not my cup of tea. What am I talking about, I don’t even drink tea. In the spirit of trying to enjoy the now 15” of snow still outside my doorstep, I decided it was time for me to take some photos of this so called winter wonderland.
And even though all I can think about is curling up next to the fire when I look at these photos… they’re just another reminder of Gods perfect masterpiece.
Here’s to enjoying the snow… I think.
I’ve never done a session in the snow. Never. That word scares me, if I’m being honest. But challenges me just the same… Heather reached out to me about doing any Anytime shoot with her Hubs, Tommy a while back but told me that it would take some convincing on her part to get Tommy to agree to it first!
Just a few days went by before she told me we were on! Then it hit me… I have large amounts of white fluffy/mucky snow that decided to settle itself here in NJ and, well… I panicked.
WHERE am I going to do this shoot?!
After weeks of thought and trying to figure out a time when our schedules matched up, we’d landed on a date. We’d landed on a date, but I still hadn’t landed on a location. Again, panic.
It was a step for me as a photographer in the sense where I needed to stop relying on backgrounds and pretty locations to get a great shot, and trust myself that I can bring out the best photos with a couple while shooting in the middle of no where.
I was so excited to finally dive into the day and had such an amazing time with Heather and Tommy. Heather and Tommy just “get” each other. They’re each others other half. I feel like within every session, I take away something about the couple. It may take a few shots before you see it… but then when you do… you understand why they’re together. Like seeing chemistry unfold right in front of my camera.
And then I smile… because in that moment, I know this is why I love what I do.
Can we just talk about how much I luuuurve her red coat?! Ok, thanks.
Heather, you are gorg.
Starbucks… it’s a love hate relationship. As in, I love you Pumpkin Spice Latte, but I hate your prices Starbucks. I mean really… $5.00?! You’re killin’ me smalls… but… I . Must . Have . You! With whip, thank you very much!
Happy Monday… hope everyone has a wonderful holiday!
