During their senior year in college Pam lived across the way from Brandon in the same apartment complex. They had the same friends all throughout college and spent many block parties together colored in purple and yellow t-shirts that read “JMU Nation” and the occasional “I Bleed Beer“, they thought to themselves, “life couldn’t possibly get much better than this”.
Little did they know that after their caps were thrown and their t-shirts were neatly tucked away, that’s when their relationship would start. They moved into apartments ten minutes from each other the first year after college. On Pams 23rd birthday, out with all their friends in Annapolis, they shared their first kiss.
Brandon says, “after that I knew there was something special about her… and I needed to get to know her better”.
During the next three years their relationship was tested long distance. With Brandon living in the Baltimore area, and Pam down in DC, they spent most weekends together. Back then Pam introduced Brandon to a song that they now call their song by Rascal Flatts, “Take Me There”. There was a line from the song… “there’s a place in my heart, nobody’s been… take me there” that reminded her of Brandon. It wasn’t until about a year into their relationship when Pam went on Brandons annual family vacation to Ocean City, MD back in the summer of 07′ that she said she “knew he was the one”.
Looking back three years ago when they thought things could not have been sweeter, they never imagined this was the way it would all work out. Sunday evening, with the sun setting and candles lit, Brandon patiently waited for Pam to arrive at her parents house in New Jersey. With one knee bent, Pam could barely get out the word “yes”. In the letter you’ll see in the photos below that Brandon wrote to Pam, he thanks her for taking him to that place in his heart.
